It takes the combined effort of several people to make this busy studio & lab
sail along at the speed and efficiency for which we're known.
Studio Owner & Certified Professional Photographer
What is a Certified Professional Photographer?
i'm Steve, owner of Yours Truly Photography. I was born in Falls Church, Virginia and spent my earliest years in Woodbridge. My family moved to Easton, Pennsylvania, which I consider my hometown - a medium sized city north of Philadelphia. I attended Penn State Berks Campus in Reading, Pennsylvania for three years before transferring to Antonelli Institute of Art & Photography- an intense photography school just outside Philadelphia. After graduation, I married my high school sweetheart, Rachel, and moved to Pittsburgh. Here I worked with several different photographers, but spent most of my time with a studio called Dream Photography in Penn Hills. It was in Pittsburgh that we created the name Yours Truly Photography on the porch of our tiny apartment. In 2007 we made the decision to move to Virginia for warmer weather and a life on the water. Yours Truly Photography was officially established and in 2009 when we bought out another local studio and opened a physical storefront in Kilmarnock.
Since then it's been a fantastic journey. We've grown and expanded in so many ways. In 2014 alone we photographed over 400 separate events, sessions and weddings. However, what I enjoy most about my job is the many interesting people I have had the opportunity to meet and the relationships that have developed with our clients.
With that being said, I would like to take a moment to thank several talented photographers whom had helped me get started. Without talented professionals willing to teach, encourage and mentor, I would not be in the place I am today.

Here's a few additional facts about myself...
Photographer & Lab Assistant
My name is Joanna. I grew up in Nebraska - Go Huskers! I’ve been a photographer since 2004, working with JC Penney, Sears & Lifetouch Portrait Studios. In 2012 I relocated to Virginia and have been with Yours Truly Photography since. My background in fast paced studios is a perfect match for the school and sports groups that we work with so often. To me pictures, portraits are worth more than gold. I love capturing the special moments that we cherish with our families and loved ones. Around the studio I’m known as “The Baby Whisperer” because of my calming effect on our littlest clients.
I enjoy walking my dogs, taking pictures (even after hours) and especially being outside. I love what I do and I would be honored to share my talent to create lasting memories for you.
Here's some other titbits
- I love swimming.
- I have four daughters
- Steve took me on my first roller coaster, in Coney Island, NY
- I take great precautions to avoid paper cuts.
We couldn't do the things we do without the help
and support of our family & freelance photographers.
